This hovercraft model was designed on the basis of Christy 6132 taking into account all the improvements, additions and changes in the construction that were made during the first year of Christy 6132 production in order to improve its performance, design, serviceability etc. “Basic” and “optimal” configurations will be produced under the name Christy 6132. A luxe model will be named Christy 6143 deluxe.

Christy 6143 became more perfect:

  • It has a new German engine unit of higher power
  • Its maximum load has increased by 30%
  • An opportunity to make hovercrafts of various application and configurations has appeared due to the modular design of the hovercraft and propeller plant, in particular. They have also improved maintainability and simplified maintenance of power units.
  • Thrust and lift engines have their own protective hoods that can be easily opened and provide easy access to any unit of the engine and reliable protection from external impacts.
  • Design of Christy 6143 enables to install superlight Italian diesel engine as an option.
  • Original power-plant suspension system has managed to minimize vibration and the total weight of the craft.
  • Due to a sandwich-type design the hovercraft has become lighter by 25% and has 100% unsinkability and incredible stiffness of the hull and cabin.
  • Christy 6143 has become more high-speed.
  • A new patented system of air distribution into the cushion has been installed.
  • Additional luggage space of 1200 liters with access from the cabin has appeared due to the use of ultra-light and compact thrust engine in the rear part. Area and volume of the cabin have become the biggest in the class of 6-seater hovercrafts.
  • Carrying capacity, amphibious qualities and softness of running have increased due to a double-level skirt that is also used on big commercial and military hovercrafts. Repair of the skirt consists in the replacement of the worn separate segments.
  • Automatic centrifugal clutch has been designed instead of bulky and heavy automobile clutch mechanism; it has increased reliability and eliminated the pilot’s errors.
  • Replacing the polycarbonate side windows with impact-resistant tempered glass has improved appearance and performance characteristics of the craft. The technology of glass installation has changed; the glass is now being pasted in as in a car.
  • The hovercraft controllability and safety have been improved due to the installation of vertical and horizontal rudders, the company’s own original design.
  • The microclimate in the cockpit has been improved due to the installation of the original ventilation and heating system.

The above changes were made taking into account the recommendations of Russian Maritime and River Registers and the wishes of our customers.
